On 11 October at the Alpine Valleys Agribusiness Forum AGM, Jane was awarded Exporter of the Year.

The award is in recognition of her continued efforts to export chestnuts and chestnut products from North East Victoria to Japan and now Singapore. In a small and very regional industry, Jane has built a reputation for Australian chestnuts as being premium quality. She thanked the Alpine Shire for her nomination and the Board of the Agribusiness Forum for selecting her. "We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area with abundant resources of clean water, air and soil. In February this year we invited our Japanese customers to visit and had a country barbeque under our chestnut trees right in the middle of our orchard. We were so proud to showcase our environment and I think it really helps our business," Jane said.
